In recent years, there have been many extreme weather events and natural disasters both in Japan and abroad,
and there are concerns that these will become more severe and frequent in the future due to climate change.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group I report, published in August 2021, states,
"It is unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere, ocean and land” ,
and there is an increasing demand for countries around the world to cooperate and accelerate efforts to respond to climate change.
In order to promote climate change countermeasures in Japan, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)
and the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) have compiled climate change projection data produced by domestic climate change research
programs and other sources and released them as the "DS2022".
