Procedures for publishing dataset

The procedures for publishing datasets are as follows.

Preliminary consultation

If you want to release a data set through DIAS or are interested, please contact the DIAS secretariat first.

STEP
1

Submission of a dataset registration application form

If you want to register a dataset with DIAS, please complete and send us the dataset registration application form. Please contact the DIAS secretariat if you would like a copy of the application form.

Contract for Publishing Dataset

As defined in Article 16, Paragraph 1 of the DIAS Terms of Service, a "contract" is necessary between DIAS and the data provider in publishing a dataset from DIAS. Generally, you will be asked to agree to the "DIAS DataSet Registration Terms and Conditions" when you submit your application form. However, using a different form or content for the contract or memorandum is also possible. Please contact the DIAS Secretariat for details.

STEP
2

Review

Based on the application form submitted, we will examine whether or not to register the dataset from the perspective of its academic value, its affinity with DIAS, the need for long-term preservation, and so on. The time required for examination will differ for each application. Please be aware that it may take several weeks to several months due to coordination between the parties involved and confirmation of the environment, etc.

The examination results will be sent to the applicant by email from the DIAS Secretariat.

STEP
3

Registration procedures

After approval, you will be in contact with the DIAS staff as a data provider and proceed with tasks such as data transfer and metadata creation.

STEP
4

Release procedures

DIAS will carry out procedures such as assigning DOIs and registering data on our download system.

Once all the above tasks have been completed, the data will be in the "release" state.

STEP
5

Publicity

If you wish, we will post information on the DIAS website and on DIAS's social networking sites to announce the release of the dataset.
