Avoid Improper Access to DIAS Dataset
Access to datasets available on DIAS is strictly limited to either the DIAS Download System or the dedicated applications provided for each dataset, accessible via the web user interface or through download scripts available on DIAS.
Recently, we have detected a large number of attempts to circumvent these authorized methods by programmatically probing URLs or endpoints in order to perform automated access to the data.
Such actions place an excessive burden on the DIAS system and disrupt access for other users. These activities constitute a violation of the DIAS Terms of Service, specifically Article 12 (Prohibited Matters), Paragraph 11: “Any act that interferes with the operation or use of the services,” and Paragraph 18: “Any act of exploiting a malfunction or fault in the services or systems for improper purposes.”
In accordance with Article 13 (Measures against Violations), DIAS may suspend access by the user without prior notice. Depending on the severity of the violation, DIAS may also seek compensation for damages in accordance with Article 15 (User Responsibilities), Paragraph 4.
DIAS operates as a publicly funded infrastructure for the benefit of society at large. We therefore urge all users to comply with the authorized access procedures and to use the services appropriately and responsibly.
