Search and download datasets

Every dataset published in DIAS has its own “metadata” page; when you search a dataset in DIAS, you are looking for its metadata page. From the metadata page, you can access the page to download the dataset.

Most datasets can be downloaded from the “DIAS Data Download System,” but some must be downloaded from a dedicated application. In addition, for some datasets, you must apply for and obtain permission to use the dataset from the data provider.

DIAS account is required!

To download datasets, you must log in with a DIAS account, which you can register for free of charge.

Search a dataset (metadata)

Search from the Datasets List page

Access the DIAS dataset list page.
Find the dataset you want to use, and click the link of the dataset name to access its metadata page.

Search by keywords or other search terms with the Dataset Search and Discovery System

Access the Dataset Search and Discovery system.
Enter keywords in the field in the upper left corner of the screen and press the "Enter" key to execute the search.
Select the dataset you wish to use from the search results.
The link in the name of the dataset will take you to its metadata page.

Download a dataset

The metadata page includes a description of the dataset, its terms of use and license, and instructions for citing and acknowledging it. Please review them carefully.

Click on the green banner at the top of the metadata page that says [Download Data],

If the data can be used by anyone without an application, you will be redirected to the data download page (Common Download System).
For data that requires prior permission application, the “Application for permission to use” form will appear. Enter the necessary information and submit the application. Please note that for some data sets, it may take several days or more from the time the application is submitted until you are notified of the result of the approval or disapproval decision.
Once your request is approved, you can go directly to the download page from the metadata page.

Logging in with a DIAS account

If you are not logged in to DIAS, you will be asked to log in with your DIAS account before moving to the download page. Enter your registered DIAS account (e-mail address) and password to log in.
